Grapevine epimenis

Sevin XLR Plus

1-2 qts

Larvae feed on foliage, but very seldom warrant treatment. Neither carbaryl nor any other insecticides labeled for use against grapevine epimenis in NY.

Tumid gallmaker

Movento

6.25 fl oz

Apply to foliage prior to onset of damage. Must be applied with spray adjuvant to aid in foliage penetration. Choose adjuvant that is compatible with other pesticides being applied. Do not use with Induce. LI 700 has been successfully used as an adjuvant in research trials. Maximum of 12.5 fl oz per acre per season.

OR

Senstar

12-16 fl oz

Apply to foliage prior to onset of damage. Senstar must be used with spray adjuvant/additive having spreading and penetrating properties. However, do not use adjuvants having sticker/adhesive properites. Do not tank mix with horticultural spray oil with Captan or crop protectant with sulfur nor sequentially with these products. Do not tank mix with Induce adjuvant. Minimum interval between treatments is 30 days. Maximum Senstar per season is 25 fl oz (= 0.195 lb spirotetramat).

8-spotted forester

Damage is from larvae feeding during prebloom and late summer. Rarely warrants treatment.

Sevin XLR Plus

1-2 qt

European corn borer

Sevin XLR Plus

1-2 qts

Two applications 7 days apart, mid-May and again in mid-July. Corn borer problems are very rare. Be certain of problem before investing in treatments. Usually found only on rank-growing Vinifera varieties and in weedy vineyards. May be a more serious problem in young vineyards or in nursery stock. Neither carbaryl nor any other insecticides are labeled for use against European corn borer on grapes in NY.
